Maple Fun Facts
A quintessential Canadian smell, taste, and image, maple can do more for us than flavour syrup and ice cream.
Similar to the effects of chocolate aromatherapy, the sweet scent of maple (the sap of Sugar Maples, specifically) conjures the satisfaction we experience from a particularly tasty batch of waffles or an especially creamy maple fudge.
Did you know that Sugar Maples are valued for timber as well as syrup? Maple wood is used for everything from bowling pins and baseball bats to guitars and drums. When you treat yourself to something maple-flavoured, remember it's probably responsible for some of your favourite sports and music too.
